It's been a busy week in Northern Manhattan--postponing a doctor's appt (because of flash flood warnings, which we now take more seriously after Hurricane Ida flooded subways and apartments, took down a retaining wall and flipped a car and submerged cars on local highways), voting in local DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) elections as well as introducing myself as a candidate for the NYC Citywide Leadership Committee. Video meetings included a reunion with women I went to college with in Minnesota, a lactation consultation for a new mother, and two workshops hosted by the Barnard Center for Research on Women on Collective Care in Public Housing and Mutual Aid.
